New Mayors’ Reception July 11th 2017

On July 11th 2017 the London Mayors’ Association welcomed a new batch of Mayors and their consorts with the traditional drinks reception. Our President The Lord Mayor of Westminster Councillor Ian Adams hosted the event at his new (temporary) suite of rooms at 5, The Strand. While Westminster City Hall is being refurbished the Lord Mayor has a fine parlour if you ignore the mayoral drivers who have virtually nowhere to stop and discharge their passengers.

Sponsored by the LMA’s good friend Bob Bone and the London New Year’s Day Parade, which is such a key event in the life of our City , Bob took the opportunity to issue invitations to boroughs to take part in the 2018 Parade.

London Mayors Chairman Clare Whelan OBE DL welcomed the 2017/18 cohort of mayors to office and hoped they would all enjoy participating in the LMA ‘s activities not just during their mayoral year but for years to come. She stressed the unique nature of the LMA and its history stretching back over 100 years as well as its packed programme of events.
